I have reservations about Rust in HPC. There are simply a lot of libraries missing for scientific computing that you find in Julia, Fortran, Python, Matlab...etc.
You can of course write all your stuff from scratch like several vendors I know have done with C & C++, but I think that is the exception and not the rule.
