Anecdotes are one thing, but I think the data are important. The article brought forth some interesting stats about the median age in the industry. Does anyone know where that data comes from, and if it's tracked longitudinally? What I'm curious about is if older programmers statistically are pushed out of the field, or if it's just the case that the field is growing like crazy and newer college grads are flooding into it.
