I wonder if HN readers just have a higher tendency to not care about fancy food. I’m that kind of person. I also don’t care about varying my clothing unless absolutely necessary for the occasion. I’d rather save my money for other things that I care about, such as decent portable and home audio, vintage fountain pens, and the occasional computer gear.
- KozmoNau7 8y agoI don't care about fancy food, all of that flashy style over substance stuff you get at overpriced restaurants. But I love good food that is made with care and good quality ingredients. Like for instance northern French countryside cuisine, or hearty north Italian dishes, or the best Indian curries. Nothing fancy, nothing flashy, but so goddamn tasty.

- mywittyname 8y agoI bet a lot of people here are good/excellent cooks. I wouldn't necessarily call my food "fancy," but I would call it good and high quality. Lunch is the worst meal for a lot of those types because most of us are not at home to prepare something good. I actually skip lunch most days.
- cooooooffffeeee 8y agoI care, but I choose when to care... and when I do it's pretty high end. Some people go out to eat every week, I go maybe every other month... but when I do I make sure it's worth it.
