You know, I wonder if the upcoming IPOs (https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/07/style/uber-ipo-san-francisco-rich.html https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/07/style/uber-ipo-san-franci...) had any impact on this decision. It seems like there might actually be quite a few people potentially in the market for an expensive first car pretty soon. Tesla has done a pretty good job positioning itself as the car to buy even if you've never really wanted to own one before, imo -- assuming you can afford one.
