Amazon’s HQ2 deal isn’t looking great for Arlington County

  "Amazon will be paid 15 percent of any hotel tax increases." So basically the government collects taxes ... to give to Amazon? I feel like tax breaks are questionable at some times, but straight up taxing other businesses / people and handing it over to another company seems absurd / poor governance.

    That part also left me kind of shocked. Not collecting taxes is one thing, but paying money to companies is another thing completely.

  - No Project Labor Agreement - No minimum wage for construction workers - No contribution to affortable housing fund - 15% of all local hotel tax increases - $23 million to Amazon from local gov if they hit 3 goals measured in office space square footage over time
