Does anyone actually believe this? Call me skeptical, but would they not just shut down "this" program them redesign it, adjust it a little, call it something different and act as if they were completely honest with the people and continue on doing exactly the same thing under a different name?

I wrote about all of this in the late '90s and early '00s when the PATRIOT Act was new and they wanted to create some database on everyone and I pointed out that the natural error rate of all databases was going to be a big problem for their efforts at locating terrorists because if the error rate is 5% and the number of terrorists in the population is .001% your system is going to be all false positives and thus useless. That article got me a lot of undue attention and I'm probably still on some blacklist 20 years later. Look, we have to stop letting these assholes run us into digital serfdom. The 21st century is going to be an awful dystopia, like medieval castles (corporations) and knights (the elite) acting as lords over the masses standing knee deep in muck kind of awfulness if we don't wrest control of our government back to the people and get these tech corporations working for the good of humanity instead of deceiving us (Google/China). What has changed and what most of you younger folks don't realize is how bad the mainstream media has become at doing its job. They're just "Pravda" now. They used to care about being journalists and the 4th Estate and now they have cozied up with big government and Karl Marx and they can't get over themselves long enough to do anything useful. It's shocking and it's a travesty.
