- mortonpe 8y agoMy Uncle gave me a hardback copy of The Band Played On in 93 shortly before he died of AIDS. I’ve read it every 5ish years since his death and I cry every time. Technology is rewriting the future of this virus and I can’t help but to think what might have been different had he contracted HIV in a different time.
- antt 8y agoYou need only look at South Africa to see what could have happened if it came 20 years earlier.
- rangibaby 8y agoSecond recommendation for that book. It really captures the reality of AIDS at the time.
- brandonmenc 8y agoAlso recommend the HBO movie version of the book.
