Depends on the kind of position/specialization/seniority you are trying to break into but in general I've found that companies really only care about algorithms in interviews. You can get almost any job in this industry despite your educational background, employment history, soft-skills, emotional intelligence as long as you are willing to hunker down for a few months and review your data structures and algorithmic knowledge.
