Hitman Runner Convicted of Mob Murder on GPS Watch Data
- davesque 8y agoWhy would someone wear a GPS watch when committing an assassination?
- Latteland 8y agoIt really just emphasizes that our connected devices make it easy for the police to track you. No privacy, even leaving a phone home won't do it.
- icebraining 8y agoExcept for receiving GPS, it's not really a "connected device", seeing as they had to get a warrant to physically search his home and analyze it. It's really no different from a Sherlock Holmes scene in the killer gets some specific type of mud in his shoes, or something, except a bit easier to decipher :)
- anonu 8y ago> They found that the runner plotted these murders with the attention and precision of any serious athlete From the article... This is a bit grim: but maybe he was trying to beat his PB? You got to be a little psycho to take a life. It's fathomable that it was just "sport" for him ...
- Spooky23 8y agoGotta close those rings!
- imgabe 8y agoHe didn't wear it during the actual assassination, but during an earlier trip when he was planning it. Still not a very good idea.
- Someone 8y agoHe didn’t. He wore one during reconnaissance: ”almost two months before Massey’s death, the watch had recorded a 35 minute activity starting in Fellows’s neighborhood and traveling to the field near Massey’s home.”
- techdevangelist 8y agoFrom what I understand the tracker data was from an earlier time when they were gathering intel on the target.
