This, 100%. I was working as a software engineer at a small company with people I liked, and didn't mind working hard. But when I switched to a leadership role it was not a good fit and the resulting anxiety made every day a nightmare. I gave it two years but then I finally gave up and left (on good terms and with plenty of notice). FWIW, finding and reading about my Enneagram type really helped. It has made me aware of when things are going against my "true self".
