Stop spreading misinformation. Maajid didn't win.
- ceejayoz 8y agoThere may have been a settlement, but it's quite clear he was the winner in it. The SPLC president made a video apology and they paid millions to him. (Rightly so, in this case; it was a clear fuckup.)

- ceejayoz 8y agoIt was an extremely one-sided settlement that indicated the SPLC knew they'd lose badly in court. If I got an apology and millions of dollars from someone, I'd count that as a win. That doesn't take genius-level intellect to read between the lines.
- smhost 8y agomaajid nawaz and ayaan hirsi ali are, literally, useful idiots for fascist propaganda. splc had good reason to suspect them. they made a mistake and apologized, but it doesn't discredit the institution.
- leereeves 8y agoAgain and again with the name calling. Do you have anything useful to add to the discussion or are you just using social media as an outlet for your emotions?
- smhost 8y agoi called them "useful idiots" because that's what they are. if that term offends you, i can use a different one, but you'll have to provide it because i don't know of any synonyms.

- smhost 8y agoi mean it's not about rational arguments. that's not how propaganda functions. propaganda is designed to bypass critical thinking. there's literally decades of research from billions-dollar industries you can read up on if you want your precious (((facts))) and (((reason))).
- leereeves 8y agoIf you have only contempt for facts and reason and you prefer to use propaganda to mislead others into doing what you want, how are you not a fascist yourself?
- smhost 8y agodo you think marketing executives are fascists because they use propaganda to mislead others into doing what they want? do you think the US and ROK are fascists for sending counter-propaganda into DPRK and blasting kpop across the border? which highlights another point: if you're actually this ignorant and incapable of thinking rationally yourself, what exactly is the point of pretending to have a rational discussion? it's all theater.
