I understand why people outside the U.S. (assuming you refer mainly to American commenters) could develop this impression, but in my experience the situation is quite the opposite. Anecdotally, I’m an American with family in government/the military and friends of every political stripe. Nobody I know thinks the Iraq invasion was a good idea or would want to repeat it elsewhere.
