Slightly off topic, my first significant job in '80s was programming a Stratus in their PL/1 implementation. As I recall it was really quite a nice mix of some COBOL record structures with more modern language options. Shame it didn't last! The Stratus itself was well engineered but missed their opportunity in the market subsequently. Moved on to writing C for an RS/6000 and doing graphics work (few low level libraries around then). Interesting times...
