The biggest problem I ran into (while supporting these old systems based on DOS and Netware 3.1) was keeping them inline with newer tech. I had a client (an accountant) with several old DOS based apps. Getting their network of printers to work reliably was a crapshoot. I'd get calls all the time that some program just stopped printing. At least Netware stayed reliable.
