But yes, I assume most all the non-apple/google built devices in ones home have many weaknesses notably dumb devices like washer and dryers. If someone has physical access to your home and your get rid of any devices that haven't been wiped, your security can be compromised if someone with the knowledge wants too. Hopefully people stay on companies to help uncover these one by one.
