You can also sign up to be a bone marrow donor in the national registry at https://bethematch.org/ https://bethematch.org/. It's unlikely you'll ever be called on, but if you are a match, you might be one of the few people in the world with the ability to save someone's life. A good friend in college had leukemia and was saved by a donation. She said that it's especially hard to find a match for people of Asian descent and other minorities.
