You creeping intrusiveness will stop with beverage preferences? What if certain beverages are correlated with political leaning, like veganism?
- narsil 8y agoNothing seems to indicate that the cameras are building personal profiles that persist across sessions. That would be hard to do anyway, requiring some kind of recognition technology or assistance tracking consumers beyond just that aisle all the way to the register. It looks like they're tracking aggregate statistics at most.
- spinach 8y agoFace recognition software isn't exactly a hard problem right now, especially when they can get a perfectly clear, hi-rez picture of you as you stand in front of the screen.
