i have that ideology, and I grew up from a very poor background. though, i personally dont see much merit in thinking much about things i cant control, whether they are real or imagined. i do it sometimes, but I always try to remember what Ronon (stargate atlantis) said, if it helps you: use it. if it doesn't, put it out of your mind. something like that.
