I have a friend who was complaining about Windows 10 so I set him up with Ubuntu. He's about a dumb as it gets with computers and he has never had an issue with Linux. The few things he's installed have been in the software store and he clicks the apt update once a week. He's much happier and less frustrated with Linux vs Windows.
- gerdesj 8y agoCool beans mate. I think you are describing someone actively updating their system because it isn't too onerous contrasted to it being a good idea (risk:reward). Many, many years ago a decision regarding Window's software management was made and ever since it means that updates take sodding ages and sometimes require multiple reboots and are generally unpleasant. One day that will be fixed - it is not normal.
