I'm 100% like this. I'm not proud of it, and while I guess I can hypothesize about "why", my takeaway is the same as the author's : it's a horrible and potentially very hurtful anti-pattern. Kudos to this dude for raising his hand and acknowledging his own problem. All I can say is, I'm the same way and I can and should do better.
