Not sure if that's what you mean here, but when this breaks the “back”, “next”, “refresh”, “bookmark” or “share URL” features of my web browser (among others), I hate whoever has been responsible of the design as much as I've hated Flash in the past.
- oblib 8y agoI'll offer the distinction is rather you're using a "web site" or a "web app". A web site should never break your browser. A web app should be able to run in "Full Screen" mode without needing to use the web browser UI.
- Arkanosis 8y agoI get it, and I think the distinction is relevant, indeed. Unfortunately, way too many developers think it's a good idea to build a web app instead of a web site, when it's not. Same issue as with Flash before, in fact.
- jamespollack 8y agohave you not used a client-side router in like 5 years? you just plug one in and BAM browserHistory, etc.
- Arkanosis 8y agoI don't do frontend development. But I'm still forced to /use/ websites the developers of which have never used one, obviously.
