I remember during my undergrad days, my university (McGill) used to have its classified ads accessible via gopher. It was pretty popular and fairly easy to use.

I remember during my undergrad days, my university (McGill) used to have its classified ads accessible via gopher. It was pretty popular and fairly easy to use. Surprisingly, there were quite a few non-technical people on there, e.g., posting apartments to sublet. This was in the days of Windows 2k/ME, so people had lower expectations for user interfaces back then.
