It's a really pity we can't have more calm, clear conversions like the nyt article and this thread. Regrettably, for the most part, conversations on the issue deteriorate into one camp denying any problem exists, that several FANG companies were founded by H1-B folk etc and the other camp espousing a generalized xenophobia. And it really is something that needs to be looked at and fixed or the angry people are just going to become more numerous and more extreme with demagogues whipping the flames leading to who knows what outcome.
