- benj111 8y agoI cant tell if you're being facetious. Does U just literally stand for unit then?
- tectonic 8y agoI believe so, yes.
- benj111 8y agoOk thanks ?!
- WrtCdEvrydy 8y agoYou'll see this in server hardware as well... 1U servers, 2U servers..
- sizzzzlerz 8y agodifferent size, however. in servers and equipment racks, 1U = 1.75 inches.
- isostatic 8y agoHeight wise. Width is 19” Depth varies dramatically - from maybe 1” to 1m
- syedkarim 8y agoYes, it stands for units. "CubeSats are built to standard dimensions (Units or “U”)" https://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/cubesats/overview https://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/cubesats/overview
- rdiddly 8y agoKind of funny that they didn't just call it a liter, which is exactly that volume.
- ummonk 8y agoWell it isn’t just about the volume, since the form factor matters too. (Maybe you were just joking and I’m staying what you already know. If so, carry on)
