- Twirrim 8y agoIsn't GNOME the biggest single desktop by market share?
- Sir_Cmpwn 8y agoIt's hard to measure. Probably?
- shmerl 8y agoOnly because Ubuntu users started implicitly using it. KDE looks more popular among those who are explicitly choosing a DE.
- Spivak 8y agoBut how do you know if someone explicitly chooses GNOME when it's the default?
- shmerl 8y agoLooking at GOL stats for example, Gnome usage grew when Ubuntu switched from Unity to Gnome (on roughly the amount of Ubuntu users). Before that, KDE had higher usage overall. So my conclusion is that Gnome's majority today can be driven by implicit Ubuntu's choices.
- shmerl 8y agoThat's good, but even if one isn't cooperative, it complicates things. And Gnome is quite big.
