I think the concern shouldn't just be about censorship but also about political interference. First Russia and now China. Foreign ownership of media is a national security concern.
- mistermann 8y agoWhat direct, trustworthy evidence is there of Russia political interference? Not a criminal charge, but the most convincing evidence?

- mistermann 8y ago> First, the Internet Research Agency "troll farm", based in Saint Petersburg, created hundreds of social media accounts impersonating Americans supporting radical groups, planning and promoting rallies, and reaching millions of social media users between 2013 and 2017. Is there any proof for this claim? Writing it on a piece of paper or web page is not proof. Was the proof perhaps IP addresses? I don't think I've ever had anyone even try to answer this question.
- intopieces 8y agoI could offer you the numerous citations around the web, but I have a feeling I'll get tired of following the goalpost before you get tired of moving it.
- mistermann 8y agoCitations of evidence? You could try once, but keep in mind the goalposts in this case are actual evidence, not an impressive story.
- chillacy 8y agoDepending on how you define "direct" and "trustworthy", you may never find evidence meeting your threshold. Some people lack "direct, trustworthy" evidence for the holocaust, after all. Anything which we don't experience directly (which is a lot of knowledge) we'll have to get from other sources.
- mistermann 8y agoSure, but you could link hundreds of photographs, testimonials from victims, etc This question is more interesting, no one even tries to provide evidence. They'll link to the judgement, but what evidence was the judgement based on? If someone knew what the underlying evidence was, surely someone would say it, wouldn't they? Yet I've never had a single person provide that evidence, or stop and say "hmmmm, that's a good question". I wonder if it's another one of these deals: https://theintercept.com/2018/02/06/lie-after-lie-what-colin-powell-knew-about-iraq-fifteen-years-ago-and-what-he-told-the-un/ https://theintercept.com/2018/02/06/lie-after-lie-what-colin...
