I still prefer Hugo to JAM. The lesser JavaScript, the better
- vorpalhex 8y agoHugo doesn't really replace javascript - it, in fact, still uses it if your theme does.
- verdverm 8y agoLove Hugo, can go from git commit to serving in 30s. GCloud builder + GKE on a single n1 vm. JS shows up in the themes / customization, but for the most part you're only dealing with Markdown
- KajMagnus 8y agoYou use Kubernetes (GKE, right?) for a static website? How does that work? (or am I misunderstanding) What about bandwidth costs? With Google and AWS, bandwidth is expensive — have you considered the case where your blog gets suddenly super popular, or maybe DoS attacked? ... to me, that feels dangerous o.O what do you think? I like Hugo too b.t.w., I've written a blog comments plugin for Hugo (and others), link in my profile.
- valtism 8y agoHugo is not a competitor to JAMstack; it is a component of it.
- lovelydrop 8y agoBANG ON!
