I listened to the podcast back when it came out and was disappointing that they didn't go into technical detail of how the restoration was actually performed. The only things that (I remember) were discussed were dealing with variable frame rates and the colourising of shots. I understand that Jackson isn't much of a techie but it would have been nice if they brought someone that worked on the restoration from the tech side along to explain their process.
