I was thinking about Google Project Fi but not anymore.

  Worst case, Google Fi is discontinued. Then you find another provider and port your number.

    Unless your Google Wallet is disabled, in which case your Google Fi account ends up in arrears and you lose your number. Google Fi can only be paid for with Google Wallet, nothing else. Google Wallet is a separate team from Google Fi.

      Is that some hidden layer thing? Because I've had fi for a little over three years and never once messed with google wallet.
