- rkwasny 8y agoIf the sstable format is compatible why not just copy sstables?
- TomerSan 8y agoTHink about different sstable versions compatibility (older C* to newer Scylla and vise versa). THere are cases where just copying the sstables will not work.
- glommer 8y agoDue to the way Cassandra and Scylla works, the SSTables contain a specific token range and each node is responsible for a part of the token range. sstable copying is possible, but the two clusters must have the exact same topology, with the exact number of nodes, and each node pre-configured to have the exact same tokens in their ownership. That's rarely the case in practice. When it is, we always recommend copying SSTables.
