Hey BlackLotus89, thanks for reading and the honest feedback, much appreciated.
In this case it was a project that had used up the entire budget and the company I was working for was contractually obligated to finish it so we were working for free.
Most of the original team was removed and me and the team I'm referring to was put in place to turn it around.
I'll make sure to put this in the article.
These articles are meant to be a series where I start from a birdseye perspective and gradually zoom down at the more concrete techniques, so thats why they start with the big concepts first. Maybe I should have made them longer and drilled down deeper from the get go.
I am very inspired about the techniques that I used, and that has definitely coloured the article, and yes I do this partly for exposure, what blogger doesn't? But if I come across as a try-hard sensation seeker I have truly failed and this is something I will take to heart.
This is the first time I post to HN and put myself out there and I have lots to learn so this feedback is invaluable.
In my experience many projects fail to align the team with the overall business objectives and they do very little to make sure the team is solid and goal focused. The result is failure or under performance. My experience is that this is also not talked about a lot.
Do you think there is anything in this or should I just stop writing about this altogether?
Thanks again for taking the time to read and write feedback :)
