Bug report:
If you drill a page then click a link within that page and click the drill thingie that goes over the scrollbar, you get the drill for the original URL, not the new one.
Eg: http://drilll.com/http://www.puremango.co.uk/2010/10/six-years-blogging-lessons-learned/ http://drilll.com/http://www.puremango.co.uk/2010/10/six-yea...
then dismiss the drill overlay and click the [machine learning algorithms] link and then click the drill logo on the right, you get the same overlay as for the first page.
- venkateshks 16y agoWe changed the behavior to take you to the original article on dismissing the overlay. You can then use the browser's back button to get the overlay back.
- user24 16y agoBetter, but imo an even better way would be to avoid the refresh-on-dismiss and simply hide the drill overlay on dismiss. Then ensure that any links in the content point to the original source (eg by adding a base href to the copied content, or through some JS). That way when I dismiss the overlay, the page instantly appears, still at the drilll URL, and when I click a link within the page it can either take me to the original URL, or to a drilll-enabled URL. You are also escaping html entities in the new title. I can't give you an example because the site's now giving me error 500's.
- kiransk 16y agoSorry about 500 error, we were restarting. We load original source in an iframe (page is not served via our server) and when you close overlay we redirect browser to original url. This is to adhere to a fair usage policy. Please also try our bookmarklet to get a seamless experience.
