This is important. I sometimes go on vacation and sleep in the back of my car. Cosier than it sounds, but no van. The money I save I spend on dining in a restaurant. The stereotype of surfers who stay on the beach for weeks developed a system for that: They litter the beach, until it's all dirty. I was amazed how much "van life" suddenly comes back to normal camping except for the litter left behind.
