I was in the same place sometime ago. There are still days, like today, when I regress but slowly taking that into stride.
Here's what has helped:
1. Cut down on the habit of "knowing" more. Nothing happens if I skip news and tech for a day or two.
2. Meditation - I started with Calm app but then moved to Insight timer and now I do it with music alone.
3. Add a hobby in life. I took up reading big time. Mainly some light fiction and YA books.

I cut waaaaay down on news, cut out almost all TV news except for banal stuff, and in general stopped studying massively depressing topics that I was unsuited, unwilling, or unable to help solve. I’m still saddened by plenty of things, just not depressed. I also try to eat well, get plenty of sleep and exercise, and make sure not to drop social time. All told I think th biggest difference between depressed-me, and me today is that I’ve divested myself of the illusion of control.
