I would personally try to move away from python at this point for greenfield projects. The GIL is so baked into the language, if you removed it a bunch of current python code will probably break in subtle ways. Modern languages need proper multithreading support, static types and fast compile speeds. Use golang, use kotlin, use dart, use anything but python & javascript.
