chill out, the murder rate is going down. Police focusing on non-violent drug offenses and continuously militarizing instead of focusing on those said cold cases is not an excuse to do genetic surveillance at scale. Illicitly building a genetic database with the help of a corporation which is basically screwing over its customers is not the linchpin of solving the 40% of murders which remain unsolved. I get that fear sells, but let's not look from the sidelines while the police state is being built and rationalize it because OMG, HOW MANY MURDERES GO FREE. Again, the murder rate is going down, this is just good old state surveillance.
- coldcasecracker 8y agospoken like a true Liberal. "chill out, it's only 40% of murders that are never solved, and actually, it used to be even higher a few years ago." to any rational person, that alarming statistic would justify being just a lil' bit tougher on crime. but not for the Liberal. the Liberal will deny reality in a mirror, no matter just how bad things really are, and double down on their Ideology (Communism) and never give an inch and never compromise until their insane and naive schemes open the doors to ruin and invite it in. by the way, in case you didn't notice, the issue about sitting on the sidelines while the police state is being built is moot. the police state has already been built. under 8 years of Obungler and 8 years of Bush/Cheney and 8 years of Slick Willy. if you think depriving the police state of DNA searches will score one for the good guys, then you are blinded to just how much territory you've already lost. there is no war against the police state. that war was lost a long time ago. thank to nerds who can code who built the algos and the data centers and the machinery for the police state to come into existence, by the way.
