- x0x0 8y agofyi, this may work better if you say where you are. I looked and am assuming NJ from the 908 cell.
- throwaway24572 8y agoGreater NYC Area.
- WestCoastJustin 8y agoYou should totally check out the whoishiring threads. They are packed with job listings (lots of remote too). https://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=whoishiring https://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=whoishiring
- scarface74 8y agoI don’t know where you are. But with that skillset, recruiters should be throwing jobs at you in most major American cities. I know for a fact that recruiters in Atlanta would be salivating at the chance to placd you. As I said before, I am in my mid 40s.
- Washuu 8y agoThe place I work for will be hiring within the next six months, budget approval pending, and this is basically a resume that would put someone towards the top of the stack.
- aiyodev 8y ago“He has all those skills but doesn’t have a job? Must be something wrong with him. I know several people his age and they all have jobs.”
- scarface74 8y agoIt could be the places he’s applying, he’s could be blindly submitting resumes, it could be anything. But out of all the things it could be, we don’t know if it’s about age.
- aiyodev 8y ago"blindly submitting resumes" Please explain what this is and why it would be a problem.
- scarface74 8y agoSubmitting a resume online that just goes through an application tracking system instead of using a local recruiter that has a relationship with the hiring manager. There is never a time that my application goes in a black hole. I always know where I am in the process.
- hooloovoo_zoo 8y agoMinor nit: you may wish to use a higher resolution image in the banner. It looks a little blurry on desktop and mars an otherwise very attractive webpage.
- dev_north_east 8y agoI really like the style you have there (achievements and then tech used). All nicely laid out. One thing: > Created a user interface in XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language) using Microsoft Expression Blend and Microsoft Visual Studio (version). "version" seems like something you meant to come back to? And I'd ditch the explanation of XAML. I really hope you find something.
