I called the IRS this week to try to resolve a long pending matter. Hold time was pretty bad, and I was told that at the time being, no progress could be made on the issue due to lack of staffing. But I was utterly impressed at the courtesy and positive attitude of the employee who handled my call. I don't know if I could bring that much professionalism to my work if I hadn't been paid in a month.
