Rust is an interesting one to compare to: it has been public for about 8 years, I think, and the first 5 years was a lot of experimentation. It started to have stability as a deliverable in 2015. Swift became public in 2014 and, when it was unveiled, we were explicitly told that there would be flux for a few years. It’s pretty much stabilized now.
