I had a job in another industry that was unionized. All it was was a way to skim some money from a large group of people and have a handful of people profit magnificently. It did nothing to help me. Since becoming a software developer, my life has been great and I have never needed a union's help. My TC is well over $400,000/year and after everything I've seen in my previous industry, I never would have reached that with a union.
