The coil whine is per device not per model. You can get lucky and have no coil whine or unlucky and have it loud af on the same model laptops produced at the same time.
- craftyguy 8y agoI must be incredibly unlucky for having owned several XPS 13 systems over the last 5 years, each with the coil whine.
- mixmastamyk 8y agoWhat exactly is coil whine? Mine makes a light chatter sound when scrolling or animation happens onscreen. Is that the same?
- craftyguy 8y agoYep, that's it. https://youtube/watch?v=blyswNKEPEY https://youtube/watch?v=blyswNKEPEY
- satysin 8y agoTrue but it seems that Dell's XPS models seem to suffer from coil whine much more than I have ever experienced with other makes using the same primary components (CPU, RAM make, SSD make, etc.) so it is clearly something Dell does (or doesn't do) that makes the matter worse.
