Apple argue to suit their own purpose all the time. Remember how iOS would never need native apps or an app store? The tablet form factor was 'awkward'? That people didn't want cheaper laptops? If somebody bothered to go through all the keynotes and other statements there would a lot of examples. There is nothing wrong with this, it means Apple can adapt - but you shouldn't take everything they say as true forever
