It took a lot of time for them to accept the problem but now they are servicing every laptop 4 years after inception and it doesn't matter if you have warranty. I'm also pretty sure you can ask them about your data so they'd transfer it (there's even a dedicated port on the motherboard for that) and you should do backup anyway.
