The (new) American dream is a rnd() function
- m1sta_ 8y agoThat'd be an improvement for many people compared to the status quo.
- willart4food 8y agoMaybe. I feel that "calculated risk" is no risk at all. Blindly taking chances "just do it" fashion with no clue about possible consequences it's not very smart, especially since most decisions affect someone else negatively. There's randomness in life, no doubt about it. We can account for it: plan B, realist optimism, etc... But "hoping" that it will all happen just because of sheer luck... I don't think it's smart. For instance, I think this is what happened to FYRE (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fyre_Festival https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fyre_Festival), there's a great documentary on Netflix. I cringed.
