I write letters to a friend in the U.S. from NZ at least once every 2 months. If you don't have stamps and envelopes handy it can be annoying at times but there's something about spending an hour reading, re-reading and then writing a personal letter by hand. Also, once you write something, there's no backspace. You either re-write the page completely or leave a mess.
