Wow, EDNS is a DNS extension mechanism first published in 1999.
So I can imagine after 20 year it is time to move on.
When I first read it I thought it was some kind of 'new' tech.
- tialaramex 8y agoMore over, this isn't about "you have to implement EDNS" (you should, but you don't have to). This is about "Either implement EDNS or when asked for EDNS, just say you don't offer that". This isn't so much "You must offer a vegetarian option" as "Don't offer a vegetarian option but then when anybody orders it you force a steak down their throat while screaming 'Choke on it you hippie!'".
