Nix and Guix both excite me a lot. Guix as a Guile scheme API is a very exciting, but what I like more is, as a result of that, Guix & it's derivations are all part of the same repo. Because they are one in the same I can be sure I'm not going to build a package that hasn't been tested against the version of guix I am running. It simplifies integration testing if I decide to create a new branch of Guix packages.
