Glad to hear you had a good experience, I imagine you traveled on the Virgin Pendolino which is a very nice experience indeed when all goes smoothly. To that end, us Brits don't have a very high opinion of our rail system (reliability, punctuality, price) so it does make me wonder how bad it must be in the US.
