I've just started to use Stripe Atlas and currently waiting on an EIN thanks to the govt shutdown. So far their support has been very responsive and helpful, and even managed to hook up a referral code to a friend's account AND to a separate account of mine that is processing payments via Stripe Connect. I'm sorry you had a bad time, but just wanted to provide a counterpoint here.
