In US English it would probably sound more like “claw set” than “Cool Set” so it took me a second to get that reference (in the end this detail didn’t add much to the management’s character so I’d either refine it or relate to the firing or overall narrative arc a bit more) A good read - how the author will novelize this anecdote into a larger story will be interesting!
